On a glorious Summer's evening 50 golfers took to the fairways for the weekly Social Scramble. The scoring matched the 'hot' conditions with 7 pairs bringing in Gross scores with a combined 25 under par!
Two pairs recorded 33s. We had three pairs shooting 32s - including Captain Shemus Dore and Ronnie Carroll. John Field and Conor Fallon had a great 31. This matched the Best Gross for the Summer so far - but following a Countback, confirmed by scrutineer Tom O'Shea, Brendan Daly and Denis Mahon are still the front-runners for that title.
Among the Gross 33's were Frances and Ciaran Lambe which in turn translated to a Nett 27.4, gaining them 2nd place. Well done to the Lambes.
Denis Mahon has featured in the prizes for the past two weeks with two different playing partners. Tonight - playing with a third partner in Paul Murphy - they recorded a Gross 32 and a Nett 27.2 to take first place. Great golf Denis and Paul.
The PGA Challenge will be in 'full flight' next week in Tulfarris with the ProAm on Monday and the competition on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is a good opportunity to see how the Pros handle Tulfarris and they will have all cleared the decks for our weekly Wednesday Scramble to follow at 4pm. See you then.
