On a glorious afternoon and evening for golf no less than 56 members took part in the weekly Social Scramble.
In the Members Bar afterwards a reminder was given to those who still hadn't purchased their tickets for Saturday's Captains' Dinner that they could do so on Saturday morning from the Starter. It was also suggested that those intending to attend could let a Committee member know in advance to assist the organisers with establishing likely numbers for the event.
We had some life events to celebrate tonight. Declan Byrne was congratulated on becoming a Grandparent for the first time last Sunday and Frances and Jerry Lambe yesterday marked their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Congratulations to all.
And so to the golf.
On the Gross front Mick Curran and Darryl Litton got off to a slow start with a par and a bogey but then birdied 6 of the remaining 7 holes for a good 31. Close but no dinner!
Bethany and Colm Smith had a great round for a Nett 27.6 which would have got them into the prizes - but with their handicap adjustment of 1.0 for last week's Win they slipped just outside the mark.
Conor Fallen and Vice Captain, Peter Pedersen had a good Gross of 32 and a Nett of 27.8. However there was another 27.8 registered by Rita Bryan and Bernie Coleman and on Count-back the sisters came out just ahead to claim 2nd place.
Another family pairing - father and son - Leonard and Conor Gilligan also had an excellent Gross of 32 which translated to a Nett 27.0 and the top spot this evening.
Congratulations to all the prize winners.
Next week sees Tulfarris hosting the prestigious ILGU Girls Championships but on Wednesday the Social Scramble goes ahead as normal between 4 and 6pm.
See you then.
