Ladies' Monthly Open Day

We are delighted to launch our Ladies’ Open Days, starting on Thursday April 19th. The series will run from April to September, on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Over the past few years, many of our lady golfers have mentioned that the course can be quite taxing and tough to get around. With that in mind and as part of our extensive redevelopment programme, we’ve undertaken extensive work to improve the play-ability of the golf course. We’ve brought tee-boxes forward, widened landing areas on fairways and shortened the rough, making the course a most enjoyable challenge.

So why not get some friends together, pack up the clubs and join us for some fun on the golf course over the Summer. There will be a first & second prize at each monthly event, plus the overall winner of the series will enjoy a 1-night break in our stunning sister hotel, the 4 star Cahernane House Hotel in Killarney.

The Simon Thornton Invitational Pro-Am, 2018

We and our touring professional Simon Thornton would like to extend our gratitude to all of the professional and amateur golfers who took part in our Pro-Am last week in aid of the Beyond The Moon charity.

Conditions were fantastic, with clear skies for (almost) the entire day. The course played it's full length after substantial rainfall in the days leading up and a chill swirled the air. However, this did not stop the fantastic scores rolling in.

Twenty teams of four teed it up at 11:30 for the shotgun start. The professional in each group played in Strokeplay format, while the three amateurs competed in a Champagne Scramble format. The two best scores counted on each hole and the final results were as follows;

1st team: Tim Rice (Limerick Golf Club) Catherine Curley, Rosaline Prescott & Mags Ryan. Winning Score of 92 points.

1st professional: Damien McGrane (Carlow Golf Club). Winning Score -3 gross.

Thank you once again to all who supported the event, Pat Barrett, Simon Thornton and their team who made the day a major success. We hope to see you all back at Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort again soon.

Membership Appreciation Day, 2018.

On Sunday 18th February, the members of Tulfarris Golf Club held its gent’s member Appreciation Day. Members were treated to a private golf clinic with our touring professional Simon Thornton. Simon gave some superb insights and helpful tips on improving their game, sharing some of his knowledge and experience gained from many years as a touring professional.

After a large turnout for Simon’s clinic, the members played a 9-hole scramble on our championship course, followed by complimentary finger-food in the resorts Elk Bar and a prize presentation.

It was great to see the gentlemen members out in force following the success of the lady member’s Appreciation Day, which was held on January 24th alongside our teaching professional Tom O’Neill with complimentary afternoon tea afterwards.

We look forward to welcoming all of our members many more times throughout 2018 and thank you for all of your continued support.
