AGM:

November 26th saw our handovers to new Captain's  Shemus Dore & Mags Ryan and incoming Men's President John Hyland.   A highlight also was the presentation of an Honorary Membership to Tom Bryan by outgoing Captain Mark Reilly.   For those of you unable to attend the men's AGM, the motion to limit play in Golfer of the Year events excepting the Captain's Prize to Sundays only, following much discussion was defeated.  Pat Barrett the Resort Golf Business Development Manager addressed both the Gents & Ladies AGM providing us with an update on his role and plans for the ongoing development of the course, facilities and golfing events to further increase the profile of golf at Tulfarris. Pat is working closely with a committee liaison group with representation from both the Gents & Ladies Club with a focus on both improving the experience of our existing members and attracting new members. The Hon Secretary's report highlighted a fall in member numbers down 10 at the end of October from the previous year, however noted an improvement over the past month or two and a pleasing small increase in our Junior numbers.  On the financial front the Hon. Tresurer Darren Ash reported on a difficult although improved year, all be it still a small loss resulting from lower membership numbers and Open/Competition income. Members were thanked for their assistance and contributions in regard to our successful Captain's & Crumlin Charity Days in addition to the Members Private Draw fund raising event. Continued improvement with the club returning to profitability this year is anticipated.

In general business, we remembered past long time member & Hon Treasurer Peter Byrne who sadly passed away during the year and took input and questions on a range of club related issues. The afternoon finished with a social gathering with finger food hosted by the Resort Management.

In closing, wishing you and your families all the very best over the Xmas & New Year festive season and looking forward to seeing you all in 2018.

Regards,

Ian O'Shaughnessy

Hon Secretary
