In discussions which the Captain Billy Reilly and I have had with General Manager John Caffrey a number of issues arose which will be of interest to members. These and other club matters are set out below.
Detailed consideration is being given to work requirements on the Golf Course, much of which will require significant expenditure. The Club's Greens Committee will be providing their input to these considerations and we look forward to favourable outcomes on the availability of funds discussions which will inevitably take place between Management and the Bankers.
Management plans are to keep Adrian's Bar open for post golf refreshments on Sundays for the month of September. It is likely that this activity will transfer to the Hotel Bar from October onwards for the remainder of the Winter.
Reduced Food Prices
Starting from Monday 14th September Tulfarris Members will be given a 10% reduction on their purchases of food throughout the Resort's facilities. This is being introduced on a "trial" basis to establish the effectiveness of their promotion in generating increased uptake of the services. The reduction will be available on presentation of your GUI/ILGU Card. This reduction does not apply to purchases of beverages.
The Resort wishes to resume a service of notification by text message to Club Members of matters such as "Course closure, frost delay, etc". In order to facilitate this
I propose to make available to them the Mobile Phone numbers which I have in the Club's records. If for any reason you do not wish to be included in this service please notify me by email in the coming week.
Communication with Resort
Our arrangements with the Resort include a formal procedure for raising matters of common interest between us. These arrangements specifically provide that where a member wishes to raise any matter - particularly if it could be in any way contentious - then it should be done through the formal Committee structure. The Club would ask all members to adhere to these proper procedures.
Brennan Cup Celebrations
Resort General Manager John Caffrey has very generously offered to host a wine a finger food celebration for the winning Brennan Cup team, the families and supporters. All members are invited to join in this at 4 o'clock on Sunday 27 September 2009 in Adrian's Bar.
