Newsletter October 25th 2009

Dear Members,

The end of year Scramble will take place on this day with a Shotgun start - 9.00 for 9.30 a.m. Get your name on the timesheet as the draw will take place on Thursday 5 November. This fun event will be followed by presentation of prizes.

Winter League (14 hole competitions) gets under way and continues through to the beginning of the full golfing year 2010. Some concern has been expressed about the pace of play and towards this end the Committee is reminding members to enter their "tee off time" and "finishing time" on their score card. A course ranger will also be on duty each Sunday morning for coming months to ensure that players keep up their pace of play and do not unduly delay everyone behind them.

Golf on this day will be a "Shotgun" start with registration at 9.00 am and tee off 9.30 sharp - 14 hole competition.

This will be followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Golf Club at 1.00 p.m. This is open to all members and formal notice and agenda willl be circulated to you in advance of that date.

The Annual General Meeting will be followed by the Celebrations to acknowledge the great achievement of Team Manager Joe Gardner and his winning Brennan Cup team. Food for the occasion is being kindly provided by Resort Management and families and supporters are invited to join members for this event.

On other days it is worth reminding members that they can receive a 10% reduction on the prices of their food purchases on production of their GUI membership card.

The proceeds of this event held to commemorate our esteemed former Golf Manager have been presented to the Williams family on behalf of the Club. I have been asked
to pass on the gratitude of the family to all those who supported this event. They are particularly grateful for the many kind wishes which they continue to receive from Club members and others at this time of sad loss for them.

Adrian will be long remembered for his massive contribution to Tulfarris through the renaming of the Manor House Bar as "Adrian's Bar". You may also recall that the Club had decided to ensure that Adrian's memory would continue to be honoured by the presentation each year of the "Adrian Williams Cup" to the winner of the Golfer of the Year Competition and this will happen in the coming weeks for 2009.

Yours in golf,

John Horan,

Hon. Secretary
