Dear Members,

The Captains Drive-in was a great success yesterday and was thoroughly enjoyed by the large number (almost 100) of golfers who participated.

John and Frances made a "vintage" entrance in a buggy which was reminiscent of a bygone era. Their drives were vintage also - right down the middle and were greeted with applause from the members and guests.

The scramble competition results were as follows:

1st: Liam O'Loughlin, Basil Phipps, Stephen Byrne, John Kilbride 60

2nd: John Hyland, Frances Lambe, Paul Fitzpatrick, Noel Reilly 60.4

3rd: P N Whelan, Noel Kelly, Alan Rice, Ann Horan (on countback) 61.3

The Presentation of these prizes and some outstanding ones from earlier competitions took place after an excellent Buffet lunch in Adrian's Bar.

Thanks were expressed to a number of people involved in the organisation of the event and in particular to General Manager John Caffrey, to Norma in the Golf Shop and to the Course and Catering staff.

Adrian's Bar:

Adrian's Bar will re-open for golfers from 10 a.m. each day from Saturday 24 April onwards. In the meantime breakfast will continue to be available in the main Hotel.

Arising from some unforeseen clashes in dates it has been necessary to make some changes to planned fixture lists for later in the summer. The first round of the

Captains Prize for the Gents will take place on Sunday 25 July and the final round will be played thirteen days later on Saturday 7 August. You may wish to note this in your diaries and if you wish to stay overnight in Tulfarris on the night of the Captains Dinner (7 August) it would be advisable to contact the hotel straightaway and book your room as these will be allocated on a "first come" basis. Be sure to advise the hotel that you are booking under the "Golf Club's quota".

The first round of the Lady Captains Prize takes place on Sunday 18 July and the second round on Sunday 25 July with presentation of prizes at the Captains Dinner on 7 August.

Other Schedule changes to the Fixture lists will be published on the notice board and the website.
