Newsletter June 9th 2010

Dear Members,

Thanks to all the members who turned up for the Scramble this evening. Despite the threatening skies which were there from early afternoon we had a good turnout and again some good golf was played in the blustery (but thankfully dry) conditions.

The scores were tightly packed with no less than 8 pairs within 2 shots of each other from 9th place down to 2nd.

In 2nd place with a score of 31.6 were Nigel Fisher and Alan Rice and the winners were Mags and Kieron Ryan with an excellent score of 29.8. Well done to them.

As the Club is running one of its Semi Open Competitions next Wednesday afternoon (16 June), we will not have our weekly Scramble but these will resume the following Wednesday (23 June). There are still some lines available for the Semi Open and you can put your name down by calling the Golf Shop 045 867609. The entry fees are €10 per Member and €20 for your Visitors.

Separately, I have been asked to remind Members that Adrian's Bar is now open on Sundays from midday onwards and food and drink will be available for us after our golf. Don't forget to avail of your Golfing Union cards when paying so as to use your Social Levy payment and get your 10% Member's discount.

Finally, Tulfarris will be participating in the qualifiers of the Jimmy Bruen Shield at 12.00 noon on Saturday 12 June, and if successful will be back again on Sunday morning (13th June) for the regional semi-final, and the final in the afternoon. The competition takes place in Kilkea Castle Golf Club close to Castledermot and the Manager Jerry Lambe and the team would welcome members support during the competition. Good Luck to all involved.

Regards in Golf,

John Horan,

Honorary Secretary
