Dear Members,

Despite the threatened (and actual) heavy rain storm we had 28 golfers taking part in this evenings scramble which was played on the back nine.

In 2nd place with a score of 30.0 were Club Treasurer Niall Robinson and his wife Maria Carville. Well done to them.

The overall winners were Myles Burke and Cian Whelan with a great score of 28.8. Congratulations to Myles who featured in second place last week when he was accompanied by a slightly "older model" in Conor Kinnerk. Particular congratulations to young Cian, one of our Junior Members.

The Tulfarris Juniors are beginning to make a name for themselves with Cian winning the Putting competition at the GUI/ILGU Junior Open Event in Castlewarden on Monday. On the same day Claire Lambe won the Nearest the Pin competition at the same event. There were reports that she was seen to out-drive her Mother on some holes tonight!

Pat Curley, Noel A Kelly and Frances Lambe are doing great work with these younger members and tonight Noel asked me to see if Members could donate some of their used golf balls to the Junior section for their practice sessions on Saturdays. Noel A will arrange to have a collection box for these balls in the Golf Shop from this coming weekend onwards. Your help would be appreciated.

Next week will be our final Wednesday Scramble for this year and I look forward to seeing as many as possible taking part. Towards this end, and given that the evenings will be closing in from hereon, we might start a bit earlier from say 4.30 p.m. onwards with the last tee-time at 6.20 p.m. The presentation of prizes will take place immediately after the golf in the Hotel Bar and we will have some complimentary finger food refreshments available to round off a successful summer of scrambles.
