087-2571608 or by e-mail to

Please contact Norma in the pro-shop to book your place on the timesheet, or book on the BRS system.

If any member wants to participate but is struggling to make up a team, please call Norma in the golf shop on 045-867609 and we will do our best to make up a team."

The Lakeside Challenge

This annual competition with our nearest neighbours, Blessington Lakes G C, will take place on Saturday 4 October. This year it is Blessington Lakes' turn to host the event.

You still have the opportunity to play yourself onto the team as there are a couple of Golfer of the Year events still to be played. The leading three players in low, medium and higher handicap ranges in the Golfer of the Year table after the September medal and P N Whelan Trophy competitions will be automatically selected.

Captain Les Broderick and Vice Captain Ciaran Curley will play against their Blessington Lakes counterparts and Les will also have a further three "Captains Picks" - one from each of the handicap ranges - giving a total team of 14 to represent the Club.

Strategic Review - Golfing Union of Ireland

The following message has been received from the General Secretary of the GUI for circulation to our members.

"We wish to advise you that the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) is developing a strategic plan, which will include consideration of its governance structures, the mapping of the future direction of the organisation and the means to get there. Recognising that the strategy will be shaped by the views of those closely involved with the game, the GUI is seeking your input.

Should you wish to be involved in the process, please take 5 minutes to compete the short survey which is available here:

Those who complete the survey will have the option of entering a free draw for one of three golfing packages for two at Carton House, to include golf tuition, overnight stay, breakfast and a game of golf on one of Carton House’s two championship courses."

We would encourage you to send your views by participating in the survey.
