Newsletter November 5th 2012

Dear Members

Unfortunately following some torrential rain overnight (and which is continuing right now) Tulfarris was closed this morning due to flooding on the course. It was decided therefore to postpone today's End of Year Scramble and to combine it with the scheduled Christmas Scramble on Sunday 2 December.

On behalf of the Members I have already passed on thanks to Norma and the Green-keeping staff for their prompt alert this morning. Hopefully, their text messages got through to you before you were on the road to Tulfarris.

Presentation of Prizes

The presentation of outstanding weekly prizes planned for this afternoon will now take place on the date of the AGM which is scheduled for Sunday 25 November. As with the AGM itself, in the event of golf being cancelled on that day (due to weather for example), the presentation of prizes such as Medals, Matchplays and Golfer of the Year will go ahead regardless.

Winter Leagues

The Winter Leagues start next Sunday 11 November and will be played over 14 holes each week. The normal approach will be to exclude holes 7, 8, 13 and 14 unless conditions dictate otherwise.

Entry to the Single Winter League is automatic for everyone who plays. In order to enter the Doubles each pair has to register their names on the Notice Board in the Golf Shop. There is no extra entry fee for the Leagues as they are included in your annual Competition Levy already paid.

Competition Secretary, Les Broderick has posted more complete details on the Notice Board for your information.

Regards and keep dry!

John Horan,

Hon Secretar
