Newsletter March 25th 2015

Dear Members,

Some mid-week updates:

Club Matchplays:

The deadline for the singles and doubles entry has been extended to this Sunday the 29th March so please get your name(s) down on the sheets in the pro-shop.

The deadline for the mixed matchplay remains the 6th April.

Birdie King:

Due to its popularity last year, it has been agreed by the committee to run this competition again in 2015. It will run again from April to October inclusive with the first eligible event commencing  on weekend of 11th/12th April. The major change this year will be that the handicaps for the purposes of this event will freeze after the 2nd round of the captain's prize in August. Full information will be available on the website in due course.

BRS purse system:

As was the case last year, members will need to put credit into their BRS purse in order to be able to enter competitions via the BRS system. Like last year, this can be done through Norma in the Golf Shop (045 867609) with a cash lodgement or via credit card. You can pay for all of your regular weekly competition levies (excluding Scrambles and Majors) in one amount of €120 or in lesser amounts as you wish. A minimum of €10 will be needed in your BRS purse at all times in order to enter a regular weekly competition via the BRS system.

As in previous years, any unused credit will expire on 29th February 2016. Unused credit for last year was due to expire on 28th February 2015, but the Resort have very kindly agreed to extend this until 31st March 2015. After this date, members will need to put credit into their BRS purse accounts in order to enter the regular weekly competitions for the current golfing season.

Bank Holiday Opens:

Just a reminder that the Easter program consists of an open singles on Sunday 5th April and a 4BBB on Monday 6th April. We would like to encourage all members to share this information with friends, colleagues etc.

Provincial Towns:

Niall Robinson and his panel embark on the preliminary round this Sunday against Kilcoole. All support would be greatly appreciated. Tee off in Kilcoole is at 1330 with a slightly later start in Tulfarris at 1400.

Kind Regards

Shemus Dore
