Newsletter June 8th 2014

Dear Members,

It has been a busy weekend for Tulfarris on the Interclub front but unfortunately not much success to report. Not for want of effort by those invloved it must be said.

Junior Cup

On Saturday Tulfarris lined out in the Junior Cup Regional Qualifiers

Along with 16 other Clubs - in Wicklow Golf Club. For several months now Team Manager James McCarron - with great assistance from Club Pro Tom O'Neill - had been preparing the Panel for this outing. The team on the day was: Steven Byrne, Stephen Cullen, Mick Curran, Shemus Dore and Liam O'Loughlin.

Conditions were tough and unfortunately we did not make it into the top four qualifiers to go through to the Regional Semifinals on this occasion but the good work done will surely stand to the club in the future. Our thanks go to James, Tom, the team and other panel members and also to the caddies on the day. Better luck next time guys.

Provincial Towns

The good progress of the Provincial Towns team under Manager President Niall Robinson came to a halt this evening. Enniscorthy had 'home'

advantage and made it count in a 5/4 win.

The Tulfarris team wasAt HOME in Tulfarris: Eoin Curley, Graham Curran, Dara Kennedy and Mark Reilly. AWAY in Enniscorthy: Jerry Lambe, Darryl Litton, James McCarron, Lenny Murphy and Mark Walshe.

Thanks to Niall, and to Captain Les Broderick who looked after the team at 'home' today, and to all the players involved. You gave it a good go this year. Better luck next year.

Other Interclubs

Tulfarris is still involved in several other competitions. We have the Jimmy Bruen Qualifiers next weekend, further rounds of the South Leinster and Brennan Cup competitions the following weekend and the Mixed Cullen Cup and the Ladies Challenge Cup also still to look forward to.

As the political slogan says - "A lot done, more to do".

Don't forget the ELS outing on Tuesday morning and the Social Scramble on Wednesday evening.
