Newsletter June 5th 2014

Dear Members,

Thirty two Members took part in the first of the Wednesday Summer Social Scrambles this evening - an enjoyable evening all round. The prizes were presented in the Hotel Bar afterwards and the prizewinners were:

2nd Catherine Edgeworth and Noel Kelly with 27.4 - this was Catherine's first outing in Tulfarris and on arrival this evening she was "paired" up with long termer Noel and they went on to bring in this good score.

1st John and Denise Sexton with a great 27.0.

John and Denise are now "leaders in the Clubhouse" for the 2014 low Net Score and this will be a difficult target to beat in coming weeks.

The best Gross on the evening was 34 strokes scored by Steven Byrne and Sheamus McGrath - a good target for the big hitters to aim at.

Well done to the prize winners and hopefully we will see you all again next Wednesday.

Challenge Cup

Congratulations to the Ladies Club on their successful second round outing against Tramore in Borris yesterday. The team was Lady Captain/Manager Maria Carvill, Ita McCarron, Rosemary Kennedy, Mary Curley and Ann Horan. The Lady Captain has asked me to thank the players and their caddies - Niall Robinson, Tom O'Shea, Frances Lambe, John Curley and June Smith - and special mention also for Kay O'Shea for her support on the day.

News is awaited of the "opposition", venue and date for the next round which is the quarter final. Well done ladies.

Junior Cup and Provincial Towns

Good luck to Manager James McCarron and the Junior Cup team in Wicklow on Saturday and also to Manager Niall Robinson and the Provincial Towns team on Sunday against Enniscorthy - Home and Away.

John Horan, Hon Secretary
