Newsletter June 11th 2014

Dear Members,

This evening's Social Scramble was played in ideal conditions and 35 members took part. The presentation of prizes in the Hotel Bar afterwards took place in the presence of a large turnout of "Vikings".

Who are staying in Tulfarris for the duration of the filming of the third series of that name which is happening on Blessington Lakes this week.

With only two weeks gone the competition for 2014 Best Gross Scramblers is hotting up. Brendan Daly and Denis Mahon had an excellent 32 but were just 'pipped' on countback by Tom O'Neill and Mark Howell who have now set that target for the rest of the big hitters to aim at.

John and Denise Sexton's low Net of 27 last week was threatened for 2014 top spot - but not surpassed so they still lead on that front.

Runners-up this evening with a good score of 27.8 were Lady Captain Maria Carvill and President Niall Robinson.

The Winners with a score of 27.6 were Myles Burke and Dave Tutty.

Congratulations to them.

Same time and place next Wednesday - see you then.

John Horan, Hon Secretary
