Newsletter July 26th 2012

Dear Members,

Playing conditions were ideal and the course was in lovely condition for this evening's scramble competition.

The scoring was good and John and Mary Curley returned an excellent score of 26.9 to claim second place.

The stars of the evening were undoubtedly two Junior Members - Jack Cullen and Ciaran Corrigan - who returned a superb score of 24.8. The lads had played an eighteen hole matchplay competition in Tulfarris earlier in the afternoon so clearly they were well "warmed up" for the 9 hole scramble.

Other Juniors who played well on the night also were Liam Callanan, Ciaran Lambe and Ciara Robinson - their more senior playing partners must have let them down when they didn't make it into the prizes!

The good work being done at the Golf Academy by Junior organiser and Vice Captain, Noel A Kelly and our PGA Professional Thomas O'Neill is clearly bearing fruit.

Well done to everyone involved.

General Manager Mark Howell has asked me to remind Members about their 10% reduction on purchases in the Hotel. Not every Member would be known to every staff member so it would be helpful if Members could produce their Tulfarris GUI/ILGU Membership Cards when they ask for the bill to ensure that they receive the reduction.

The Scramble competition is on again next Wednesday and every Wednesday through to the end of August from 5.00 to 6.00 p.m.

Regards,

John Horan,

Hon Secretary
