There was a full timesheet for President Niall Robinson's Prize competition today. The shotgun start was followed by lunch in the Hotel restaurant and the presentation of prizes. All in all a pleasant day on the golf course which was in excellent condition and an enjoyable function afterwards.
After close scrutinising of the scorecards (and countbacks on the four with 40pts each) by Competition Secretary, Kieron Ryan the prizewinners were:
Front Nine: Darren Ash (15) 20pts.
Back Nine: Dave Reid (12) 22pts.
4th: Tom Browne (18) 40pts.
Best Gross: P N Whelan (6) 31pts.
3rd: Ronnie Carroll (7) 40pts.
2nd: John Curley (9) 40pts.
1st: Captain Les Broderick (16) 40pts.
In his winners speech Les thanked Niall Robinson for his lengthy years of service on Committee and congratulated him on the preparations for today. There was some mention of a 'pact' about winning each others prizes but we wouldn't want to be putting any extra pressure on Niall for the next Major in a couple of weeks time, would we?
Well done to Les and to all the prizewinners, and to Niall also.
On a separate note - two reminders - ELS on Tuesday at 10am and Social Scramble on Wednesday at 5pm.
Finally, we send best wishes to the Ladies Club team for their Challenge Cup Semi-Final match on Thursday in Blainroe versus Courtown.
