Dear Members,

Our PGA Professional Thomas O'Neill made his "debut" in our Wednesday Scrambles this evening partnering Resort General Manager, Mark Howell. Despite having a combined "handicap" of only 0.6 they managed to scrape into second place thanks to a marvellous gross score of 29 - three pars, five birdies and one eagle. Mark sank a "raker" on the 9th for the three! Their net score was 28.4.

It wasn't good enough however to beat two of Thomas' star pupils - Junior Members Alan Kelly and Darragh Byrne who had a really top class score of 26.8 to claim 1st place on the night. Well done lads.

Next Wednesday will be our last Scramble for this year and Mark Howell has kindly agreed to provide some finger food for all participants in the Hotel Bar afterwards. We look forward to a good turnout of Members on the night.

Looking ahead I should mention that this Sunday's Medal competition is your last chance to get GOY points and to play your way on to the Tulfarris team ahead of the Interclub competition with our near neighbours, Blessington Lakes Golf Club, which will be played on Saturday 15 September. You may recall that apart from some Captains "Picks" the bulk of the team will be chosen from the GOY charts in various handicap ranges following next Sunday's competition.

On the Saturday after that match - 22 September - Niall Robinson will host his Captain's Charity Day. More details on this will be circulated in the not too distant future but in the meantime you might want to note the date in your diaries and line up a team (of four - any combination) to participate. It will all be for good causes.

Hon Secretary
