Newsletter August 18th 2016

Dear Members,

Kieron Ryan’s Captain’s Prize:

Just a reminder the deadline for entry on the BRS system is 2 pm tomorrow Friday 19th August.

Members are advised to check their actual pairings and tee times via BRS on Saturday 20th August. The entry fee for the competition is €20 (Juniors €10) payable to the starter on Day 1 (Sunday 21st August) .

Play will be in reverse order on Day 2 (Saturday 27th August), with the leaders going out at approximately 1.30 pm. If by any chance you are unable to play in the second round, please advise the starter on Day 1 so that the draw is not disrupted for those playing on Day 2. Similarly, if you are unable to play in Round 1 and wish to play in Round 2 please let us know in advance so that your name can be included for Day 2.

Tickets for the Captains’ dinner on Saturday 27th August (35 euro) are on sale in the pro shop on day 1 and day 2 of the competition.

Interclub News:

Ann Horan kindly provided the following update:

“For the first time, Tulfarris Ladies Club entered a team in The Borris Trophy in early August. This competition is for ladies in the 27-36 handicap range. It was a most pleasant experience and very well organised by the ladies in Borris Golf Club.

The format was foursomes and our team included Maureen Doran and Audrey Finnegan (their first time to represent Tulfarris in an Interclub competition), Denise Sexton and Miriam Solan, Mary Curley and Ann Horan. We were delighted to get 3rd place. Ironically our opposites on the day were Courtown who defeated our Challenge Cup team earlier in the season.

Thanks to the team and well done to all”

Kind Regards

Shemus Dore,  Hon Secretary
