Some more updates.
Bank Holiday May Opens:
With the first medals just completed why not take the opportunity to play some casual golf this coming weekend with friends, family, colleagues etc
We have the Fourball Betterball on Sunday followed by the first opportunity this year to slay the 'Blue Monster' on Monday. So whether you just want to take the money from your friends or feel the wrath of the monster...please book those tee times.
The Competition Secretary & Vice Captain, Kieron Ryan (Kieron@irishvent.ie) has asked me to share the following in relation to both the men’s singles and doubles matchplay competitions.
" The completion date for 1st round matches is Sunday May 3rd. Of the 32 Matches to be played in round 1 – as of April 23rd there are only 3 results posted.
There is a strict completion date being implemented for this competition due to the volume of entrants this year. If there are any uncompleted matches by close of play on the 3rd May, or I don't have commitment from the participants to play within a day or two of this date
( as I realise this is a bank holiday weekend ) – a coin will be tossed to decide the outcome.
The completion date for the 1st round of the doubles is Sunday May 10th.
There are 14 matches to be played in round 1 – as of April 23rd – there are no results posted so far. A coin will also be tossed at close of play on Sunday May 10th to determine the outcome of uncompleted matches.
I realise there are interclub matches being played around this time of the year, and it is a busy time for everybody, but there are approx. 4 weeks between each round of the competition, and the matches must be played within this time.
Please post any results to either myself, Peter Pedersen or Eoin Curley. Email addresses are as follows:

In Coollattin GC:
In what was always going to be a tough encounter, with 5 matches 'away' in Coollattin, the challenge proved too strong for the team. The team manager would like to thank all members of the squad who made themselves available for practice rounds and matches. He would like also to thank Shemus Dore for looking after the Home team in Tulfarris and to all caddies and support by members for both matches.
Finally, we fought a good battle with Palmerstown eventually succumbing to a 4-1 loss in the Central Towns. Team manager Ciaran Curley expressed his gratitude to the team for their efforts and for the support given on the day.
