Dear Members,

Provincial Towns Cup

The following report has been received from Team Manager, Niall Robinson.

"Tulfarris has bowed out of the 2014 Provincial Towns Cup after a tough battle with Blainroe yesterday. The team was (Home): Ciaran Corrigan, Mark Reilly, James McCarron, Eoin Curley, Liam Callanan and

(Away) Mark Walshe, Jerry Lambe, Kieron Ryan and Darryl Litton.

Thanks to all the team members, who put in a lot of time and effort leading into the match and battled all the way and were maybe a little unlucky on the day to lose out 5/4 to a strong Blainroe team.It was great to see Junior Members Liam and Ciaran making their Senior Interclub debuts - invaluable experience for the future. Thanks also to John Horan for looking after the team in Blainroe".

Hard luck lads and thanks to Niall also for all his work in getting the team ready and on the day at Tulfarris.

South Leinster Trophy

Team Manager John Britton, ably assisted by Tom O'Shea, is busily preparing his panel for their first 2014 outing in this competition.

They take on Carlow at 3.00pm on Monday 5 May with 4 matches in Carlow and 3 at home in Tulfarris.

They say that all available support for the team would be appreciated at home, and especially away in Carlow. Best of luck to them.

May Opens

The Bank Holiday weekends seem to be coming quickly this year and next Monday (5 May)  sees the return of the Tame The Blue Monster Challenge when you and your friends can take on all of the 7,165 yards Blue Tees course at Tulfarris. This is longer than the course that the European Tour pros finished the Volvo China Open on earlier today!

If you would prefer an "easier" challenge you could of course play the Fourball Betterball Open on the previous day (Sunday 4 May) off the White tees - a mere 6,745 yards. The timesheets are open for bookings on the BRS system or through the Golf Shop on 045-867609.

Elder Lemons

As usual, the ELS Group will be turning up from 10am for teetimes from

10.30 on Tuesday mornings. All ELS qualifiers (55+) and your guests will be most welcome.

John Horan,

Hon Secretary
