Rnd 2: Lost to Newlands GC
Tulfarris was very ably represented on the day by Lindsay and Shemus Dore, Catherine and Eoin Curley, Theresa McGonagle and Mark Walshe, Maria Carvill and John Field Nd Rosaleen Prescott and Niall Robinson.
With 4 of the 5 matches being won or lost on the 18th it was a tense affair but unfortunately Tulfarris came out on the wrong side of the result. Well done to Newlands.
Thanks to the team for their work in practising and playing for the Club and my thanks to Captain, Mark Reilly for managing the Away affairs in Newlands on the day.
Rnd 1 : April 14th: Tulfarris Off To a Winning Start Defeating Lisheen Springs 3-0
On Sunday March 19th saw Tulfarris get the 2017 Interclub year off to a winning start. The Irish Mixed foursomes team togged out against our near neighbours, Lisheen Springs in atrocious weather conditions which fortunately cleared up for the back 9. The Tulfarris team got 3 wins and the other 2 pairs were also up in their respective matches on the 15th and 16th when they were called in. All in all in was a comprehensive victory.
The Team members were: Lindsay Dore & John Field. Louise Lehane & Les Broderick. Rosaleen Prescott & Shemus Dore. Margaret Ryan & Stephen Cullen and Theresa Mc Gonagle & Mark Walshe.
Well done to all of them.
Many thanks go to Norma and everyone at Tulfarris for their help. A particular thanks goes to Ranger Tommie Deegan for his help-which included some rapid changes of hole locations which became flooded from torrential downpours in the course off the round. Course Superintendent David Brady & his team had provided some alternative locations which facilitated the last minute swaps. Well done David and Tommie.
The Tulfarris catering team did themselves proud with an excellent meal afterwards which was the subject of much favourable comments from our team members and visitors on the day.
Many thanks go finally to Lady Captain Catherine for her help in assembling the ladies on the team and Captain Mark for his support throughout the day. Thanks to Kieron Ryan for managing the team in Lisheen springs and thanks to the members who came out to support the team despite the weather.
